About ARA Staff

Judy Cooter and Jeannie Stoner co-directed ARA, a ministry of Piedmont Women’s Center, in Greenville, South Carolina, from 1991 to 2014 when Judy went home to be with the Lord. Jeannie continues directing the ministry today.

Judy and Jeannie prayed and believed that God’s grace was and is reaching out to any woman or man who has not yet had the opportunity to be set free from the sin of abortion. This gift of healing must be communicated not just to the hundreds but to the thousands and, if God wills, to the millions.

They led workshops at Care Net, Heartbeat International, North American Mission Board, Ramah International, and Sav-A-Life. They trained facilitators at ARA Training Institutes since 1998 both nationally and internationally. They also advise local and national post-abortion ministries. Together they have designed materials to reach post-abortion women and men as well as education the public and church about abortion trauma and the healing available through God’s Word.

They along with Carolyn Rice co-authored Facilitating Biblical Healing, a leader’s guide for use with Linda Cochrane’s Forgiven and Set Free post-abortion Bible study. The leader’s guide has been translated into Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, Georgian, and is used in other English speaking countries. They also wrote Facilitating Biblical Healing for Men, a leader’s guide for use with Linda Cochrane’s Healing a Father’s Heart, which is available on our resource page.

Judy and Jeannie developed the concept and were editors and co-producers of the film SET FREE.

In 2010, they received the Greenville County Legislative Delegation Chairman’s Award for outstanding service to the citizens of South Carolina. They were presented the South Carolina Association of Pregnancy Care Center’s “On Wings of Eagles” Award in 200
