FREE Pregnancy Testing

The Piedmont Women’s Center medical team uses a medical grade pregnancy test. Our pregnancy testing is 99% accurate and more sensitive than over-the-counter tests. Our testing identifies hCG (the hormone produced in pregnancy) as soon as one day after your first missed menstrual period. The outcome of your test will be confirmed by a medical team member at your appointment.

If your pregnancy test is positive, you will meet one-on-one with a caring member of our medical team. We are here to help you take your next steps with confidence and support.

During your visit, we will talk with you about your options and create a simple care plan just for you. We can help connect you with helpful resources, including:

  • Local OB care providers
  • Help applying for Pregnancy Medicaid and WIC
  • *Free prenatal vitamins
  • *A free limited OB ultrasound

You will also receive a Medicaid-approved pregnancy verification form as proof of your positive test.

If you are considering abortion, we are here to provide accurate medical education so you can make an informed and confident decision. Our goal is to ensure you feel supported, respected, and empowered every step of the way.

*For clients who qualify.
**Abortion is a medical or surgical procedure that terminates pregnancy. Piedmont Women’s Center does not perform or refer for abortion.

If your pregnancy test is negative, a member of our medical team will offer additional services and resources.

How Far Along Am I?

Pregnancy is usually measured from the first day of your last menstrual period. In a typical 28-day cycle, ovulation happens around the middle of the cycle — about 14 days after your period begins. If you were sexually active around the time of ovulation, pregnancy is possible.

The first step is taking a pregnancy test to confirm whether you are pregnant.

If your test is positive, an ultrasound can help estimate how far along you are. An ultrasound can also confirm that the pregnancy is developing in the uterus.

Clients who qualify may receive a free limited ultrasound to confirm that the pregnancy is growing inside the uterus and that there is a heartbeat.

We are here to walk with you through each step and answer any questions you may have.
